Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?

Step 1: Complete Hopkins Athletics Registration (Required for ALL Players)

This is the Hopkins activities registration and is separate from Hopkins Football registration.

🔗 Register Here: https://athletics.hopkinsschools.org/register

  • ✅ Create your new Bound Family Account and add your student using their Hopkins Student ID (available in Infinite Campus).
  • ✅ Verify or upload your athlete's sports physical (valid for 3 years and must remain current through the entire football season).
  • ✅ Register for Football through Bound and pay the Hopkins Activities participation fee.

Step 2: Hopkins Football Registration (Only if Needed)

Only athletes who DID NOT register for Summer Training need to complete football registration through the Hopkins Football website (Crossbar).

Why Is There a Separate Football Team Fee?

Many families ask why there is both a Hopkins Activities Fee and a Hopkins Football Team Fee.

The Hopkins Activities Fee is charged by the school district and helps support district athletic operations, including facilities, officials, transportation, athletic training, and other school-managed expenses.

The Hopkins Football Team Fee is managed by the Hopkins Football Boosters and directly funds the enhanced experience our program provides beyond what the school budget covers such as including strength & conditioning, enhanced equipment, team meals, updated technology, additional coaches, team-building activities, and player recognition.

To help make the fee affordable for every family, players can earn a credit that fully waives the Football Team Fee by selling 15 Hopkins Football Club Cards. This allows athletes to offset the cost while helping strengthen the program for the entire team.

Hopkins Activities Fee → Paid through Bound during school registration .

Hopkins Football Team Fee → Paid through the Hopkins Football website (Crossbar) when registering for summer training.

What are no contact weeks?

No contact weeks or no contact periods are established by the Minnesota High School Sports League (MHSSL). During these periods coaches are unable to have contact with the athletes - this includes practices, training, communications, etc. Note, in the high school schedule, no events are scheduled during these timeframes.

Is Fall camp mandatory?

Fall camp begins in August and is critical to ensuring readiness to hit the field. If sessions are missed, you will be required to make up the practice time so you can safely move into a full padded practice. Registration through the Athletic Department should be completed by the time camp begins.

Where are practices held?

Practices are held after school on the turf practice field (TPF) or the stadium field at Hopkins High School. Lifting sessions are held in the weight room at the Royals Athletic Center (RAC).

What is "install?"

Install is when the coaches teach the offense, defense and special teams in a classroom like setting. Consider it "football school." Players should be sure to stay current with their playbooks and bring notebooks/pencils to install sessions.

What kind of game schedule can we expect?

Varsity games are generally held on Friday evenings, Junior Varsity on Saturday mornings and Freshman on Thursdays after school. The full game schedule will be posted on our website for each team when it's available.
