Girls Flag Football
The Hopkins Girls Flag Football Program is a program run with Hopkins Community Education, Hopkins School, and Hopkins Football Boosters. The primary objective of this league is to provide girls in Middle School (6th-8th) and High School (9th-12th) with the opportunity to have fun while learning the game of football.
Flag Football was added as an Olympic sport for the 2028 Olympics and Hopkins Girls Flag participates in leagues and tournaments in both the USA Football and NFL Flag charters.
Our program has been designed to give girls an opportunity to learn the basics of football and develop a better appreciation of the game. It is a wonderful experience, a great way to learn the skills of teamwork and a lot of fun.
Flag Football is a NON-CONTACT sport. Flags are worn and pulled off for a “tackle”. Flags and jerseys are provided. Turf shoes or rubber cleats are recommended. No experience is necessary and EVERYONE plays.
Girls Flag Football Program Information
Ages
Divisions for Girls Flag Football follow the USA Football organization and include the following divisions:
- 18U & 16U (High School)
- 14U & 12U (Middle School)
In addition, we run a separate K-5 youth league: Hopkins Football | Girls Flag Football K-5
When
Fall 2026
August 17th to October 10th
Where
Practices are held at the middle school H3 field. Games may be played across the metro-region or at Hopkins.
Practices
Mondays: 6:30-8:00pm
Games
Fall is for development. Games or scrimmages will occur on Saturdays.
Jerseys
Program shirts will be provided as part of the registration fee.
Registration Costs
Registration costs will cover the administration of the team including field rental, tournament entry fees, and league costs.
Extra Costs
Players are responsible for their own equipment; including, cleats and mouth guards. Loop head bands are recommended, but not required.
2026 Girls Fall Development
Registration for 2026 Fall Girls Flag Football Development Program for Middle and High School.
This registration is for a developmental season for girls interested in flag football. Season will consist of practices and scrimmages with potential for possible games against other organizations.
